THE CAMPAIGN PLAYBOOK

Your path to 270.

Random Mode: Start a new campaign and choose Random Mode for fresh support and voter priorities in every state and DC. Both candidates start with the same national support, and the real geography and electoral votes stay intact.

Select a state on the 3D map or in the state list. Spend three actions each week to persuade voters and organize turnout.

Map and polling colors follow each candidate’s party. Lighter shades indicate closer leads. Close polling is uncertain. Election night includes a shared national polling error and local surprises.

Maine and Nebraska allocate two statewide votes plus district votes. Districts are simulated within each state. A tie goes to a simplified contingent-election ending.

Campaign spending controversy sparks questions

Support shifts to undecided — earn it on the trail.
$10 million + 1 action · maximum 2 uses per candidate

Three random states, fixed for this region this week. Each loses 0.5–1.5 points of opponent support to undecided voters. You gain no support automatically.

Full pressure for 2 turns, then ⅔ and ⅓ strength for 2 more. Four-turn cooldown. Targeted states resist new attacks until 7 turns after launch. No stacking.

15% backfire risk: the story is discredited, the attack ends, and the attacker takes a small 0.4-point turnout penalty in those states for 2 turns.

The defender can ignore it, campaign through it, or spend $5M + 1 action on a rebuttal to halve all remaining pressure. One rebuttal per attack.

Invented headlines about fictional candidates. No real allegations.
EARN THEIR TRUST. WIN THEIR SUPPORT.

Your winning coalition.

Exclusive endorsements. Visible goals. One action to seal the deal.

2 governor slots + 1 national slot per candidate.

Governors: +1 support point in their state and +0.25 turnout points on election day. National endorsement: +0.5 support points nationwide. Support boosts happen once and last through the campaign. At most +1.5 support points can overlap in one state.

A strong prepared debate means at least 2 preparation sessions and a debate result of +0.5 support points or better. Both candidates follow the same qualification and meeting rules. All endorsers are fictional.
